Hello everyone!! I went to eat breakfast today and could not figure out anything that sounded good at all :(  So I ended up having a piece of leftover grilled pork tenderloin and it got stuck!! YIPEE!!
I NEED some new ideas for breakfast, if anyone has any PLEASE!!

I right now am almost 6 weeks post op...I can eat basically anything protein!!!
I have to stay away from carbs and fruit and veggies for now, but ALL meat  sit fine with me, along with eggs and such!  I have ventured out with the Low Carb tortillas and crackers, but
I am very sick of scrambled eggs with cheese and meat .. I normally just heat up left overs..but i want something different!!  Is there any low carb bread that we can have that maybe i can put some peanut butter on??  Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks so much!!

Why do you have to stay away from carbs? Carbs aren't evil especially if they are eaten in moderation. I use the whole wheat tortillas and cut in half. Then I take one half and half that and use it as my "bread" for a peanut butter sandwich. You could also try cottage cheese pancakes. Use one snack cup of cottage cheese and mix with 1 egg and 2 tablespoons of whole wheat flour. The batter is a little thinner than normal pancake batter but they cook like regular pancakes. Cook on lower heat until bubbly and then flip. I think they are yummy. (even my 4 year old liked them) Also, egg salad could be a breakfast. Or turkey sausage. I did my sausage in a little sf syrup... Hope some of these ideas help! :) Becky

I am not focused on low carb as much as I am focused on buying whole wheat, nonenriched products - you would be better with a little carbs and whole wheat, then lower carb enriched breads (if you can find low carb whole wheat then you hit the jack pot!). I buy low carb whole wheat tortillas at Trader Joes, they also sell a Low Fat whole wheat bread that is lower in carbs than normal bread - but its also a smaller slice :-) You can also check out wassa bread, ak-mak or melba toast - all good choices and great to spread nut butters on, or put some cheese etc. Breakfast ideas - fage yogurt... I mix mine with some kashi cereal (or you can use granola) and some SF vanilla syrup. You can also mix in NSA/SF jelly/jams or a little fruit... its a great *protein packed* breakfast.  Cottage cheese Regular Light Yogurt Turkey and Cheese Wraps Refried beans w/LF cheese/sour cream (you dont *have* to eat 'breakfast food')

Hello!  I am four months out and breakfast is still very hard for me.  I don't know if you like oatmeal, but there is a weight control oatmeal that is good and filling.  I was told it could swell, so I only ate 1/2 a pack which is not too much.  I like the maple brown sugar.  I also eat protein bars, but I am very tired of them.  I used to eat refried beans with cheese a lot.  I still do, but not as much.  My fav used to be chicken salad.  I would chop up the chicken very small, add Ms. Dash and mayo.  It was very simple and tasted good.  Great way to leave left over chicken.  I also did the low carb wraps w/ beans & cheese.  Sometimes, I just make a peanut butter and banana smoothie.  But, I feel like I haven't eaten if I don't actually chew.    Breakfast is hard for lots of people.  I also buy double wheat bread, it has only like 7 grams of carbs.  I was told that toasting the bread is better.  Just try things and do what your body takes well!  Good luck!

THANKS ladies for your replies!!!  My surgeons protocol says NO CARBS and NO LIQUID CALORIES because the ONLY protein we are suppose to have is from food...they do not even allow us protein shakes or drinks!! I guess the no carbs falls into the fact that if we fill up on carbs we don't leave room for the much needed protein foods!! I believe this is the hardest part of being post op, is learning how and what to eat all over again!! The choices are so limited now and I am not one to have a  creative knack for making new recipes..LOL Thanks again for your input and you each have given me some new options to play around with!!

How about a low carb yogurt---with a little healthy crunchy cereal mixed in--its nice , tasty and crunchy---I used to use the KASHI high protein cereal---but there are several brands you can use!

I 2nd the fage yogurt w/ sf preserves.  Low in cals, high in protein, and tastes pretty good with flavoring.  I saw about 6 different SF preserves so you could have a different flavor each day.

Weight Control oatmeal is really good!  The maple sugar one is the best! Andrea

Walmart has Joseph's pita bread (normally in front of deli cases) that are high in protein and low in carbs.   I use about a 1/4 of one and toast it and you can put peanut butter or deli meat on it.  And it is delicious.  You could prob even make a little grilled cheese out of it and i remember how much u like those! Wish I could help.  I have never been much of a breakfast eater before or after.  Most days it is fage' yougart with alittle cranberry almond granola cluster ceral..  Yes Doctor Penders eating plan is alittle hard but it works but keep in mind that so does some of the other plans.  So don't stress out or feel guilty if you do decide to due some of the low carb pita's.  It would take alot of carbs to stop your weight loss at this point early in.  I do also get the little berry activia cottage cheese.  They are pretty good.
